The Story
The SupTronics X1002 is a compact, bottom-mounted NVMe expansion board for Raspberry Pi 5, allowing you to attach a range of M.2 NVMe SSD sizes (2230, 2242, 2260, and 2280) via the PCIe 2.0/3.0 interface. It supports data transfer speeds of up to 8Gbps.
It connects to the underside of the Raspberry Pi 5, keeping the GPIO header clear for other add-ons. With nothing on top of your Raspberry Pi, the design also compliments the use of a Raspberry Pi Active Cooler. or other top-mounted coolers and hardware.
Mounting holes and standoffs are included to secure the board to your Raspberry Pi. An onboard LED shows drive write/read activity status.
The board supports booting from NVMe, allowing faster performance for tasks like app launching, web serving, and media streaming. It’s a solid option for projects like home media centres or NAS setups.
